Dental implants are generally considered the best solution for people who have missing teeth. Historically permanent implants required bone grafting and therefore had higher risks of failure than what is currently available now.

All-on-4® is a revolutionary approach developed over a decade ago by Paulo Malo and MALO CLINIC team, which allows the total oral rehabilitation of patients with the placement of only 4 titanium implants in each jaw, through a quick and minimally invasive procedure.

In Australia the only clinics that use the All-on-4® developed titanium implants are the Malo Clinics in Melbourne and Sydney. Other implants tend to be inferior to the originally research innovative development created for the All-on-4® procedure by Dr Paulo Malo.

The Implants act as a foundation for MALO CLINIC Bridge, which allows the placement of a fixed set of teeth, in all similar to natural teeth. This technique stabilizes bone levels, keeping the jaws healthy. By tilting 45° the two posterior implants, the All-on-4® allows even those patients with virtually no bone to have fixed teeth without need of bone transplant. The result is a fixed (non-removable) natural looking dentition, indistinguishable from natural teeth.

The advantages the All-on-4® procedure produces are;

  • Higher success rates (98%) than traditional permanent implants.
  • In most cases does not require bone grafting.
  • The procedure, when correctly applied is of short duration and well tolerated.
  • Can be performed in patients with diabetes, osteoporosis and other conditions where bone grafting seems like the only solution.
  • The procedure is performed in a single day.
  • Produces natural looking teeth that look and feel like your natural detention.
  • Easy to maintain and clean.
  • Less costly than bone grafting.

There are many reasons why you might not have sufficient Jawbone for an All-on-4® procedure. These range from bone deterioration from temporary implants, use of certain medications or genetic make-up.

Zygomatic implants are used for instances where you have insufficient bone for a traditional implant. These implants are designed to overcome the need to have a bone graft. Any bone graft increases the chance of failure in implants. The All-on-4® procedure was specifically develop to avoid the need of implants for this very reason.

How Does a Zygomatic Implant work?
Zygomatic implants and are anchored into the check bone, providing an alternative to grafting procedures in the upper jaw.

This procedure is performed under a general anaesthetic and needs to performed by a specialist oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Like all All-on-4® procedures new teeth can be fitted within three days.

What are the benefits of a Zygoma implant?

  • Improved appearance
  • Permanent teeth that do not come out
  • No more sore spots from dentures
  • High success rates than bone grafting
  • Faster healing than a bone graft
  • Overall lower maintenance
  • Confidence to laugh
  • Teeth and gums that look normal

What is a Quad Zygoma?
A Quad Zygoma is used where the bone is extremely deficient. These are considered the worst cases and are performed under a general anaesthetic. In these instances the Zygoma Implants may be inserted in both sides of the cheekbone. This procedure can support a full set of replacement teeth, easily.
